A uniform quality of welding of bearing concrete steel joints in factories as well as on construction sites is a crucial safety element of reinforced concrete structures. Requirements in terms of materials, design and welding of bearing welded joints, welders, quality, control and testing are defined by ISO 17660-1.
The standard includes requirements on welded joints between armatures of concrete steel and other steel parts, which are joining parts and anchor bolts, including prefabricated parts.
Requirements on the quality of concrete steel welding is deemed appropriate to be included in the quality management documentation as a specific process according ISO 9001.
The quality system of concrete steel welding according ISO 17660-1 is above all aimed for producers of concrete steel products and metal construction parts. The quality system of concrete steel welding is used by structure mounting organizations for constructions, bridges, pipelines etc, where it is necessary to follow regulations of Technical Quality Requirements 19 of Railway Infrastructure Administration and General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways for steel bridges and constructions, TB 86 for expansion joints, Technical Condition 193 for welding of concrete steel armatures and other joints.
Holder of the Quality System certificate of welding according ISO 17660-1 has the possibility to attend a selection process for building and transportation infrastructure constructions, where the fulfillment of requirements is necessary under Technical Quality Requirement 19 of Railway Infrastructure Administration and General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways for steel bridges and constructions, TB 86 for expansion joints, technical conditions – TP 193 for welding of concrete steel armatures and other. The certificate required under ISO 17660-1 is a sufficient and trusted document for customers. This certification as a non-accredited service under EN 1090-2 proves the producer’s ability to work with concrete steel and bearing wielding on this material.
